Hoodlums believed to be kidnappers have reportedly abducted a couple along the Benin-Asaba Road in Agbor area of Delta State.

The couple were abducted on Saturday when the vehicle they were travelling with was waylaid by the captors.

Sources close to the family identified the couple as Mr. & Mrs. Kelvin Mordi. The couple were heading to a wedding reception when the incident took place.

It was gathered that the abductors are demanding N10 million to release their targets.

But the Delta State Police Command, while confirming the incident, said the victims were heading for a wedding in Benin when they were kidnapped.

The spokeswoman of Delta Police, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, told NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online, said the victims were wedding guests.

She said, “They were travelling to Benin for a wedding when they were attacked. They were not the one getting married. They were guests.”

Onovwakpoyeya added that the police have commenced rescue operation for the victims.
