Warri Catholic Priest Dies Of COVID-19 Complications In Delta

The chaplain of the Seat of Wisdom Catholic Chaplaincy at Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun, in the Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State, Very Rev. Fr. (Col) Patrick Eyayomo (rtd), is dead. 

Eyayomo, a senior priest in the Catholic Diocese of Warri, reportedly died of COVID-19 complications. 

NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online gathered that Fr. Eyayomo passed on last Saturday (Feb. 6) where he was receiving treatment. 

The late Catholic priest was a former military officer who retired as a Colonel from the Nigerian Army.

He was 72 years. 

He was ordained a Catholic priest on February 2 1985.

Sources said the deceased test positive for coronavirus same time two other popular Catholic priests also contracted the virus. 

Fr. Eyayomo was described as a very jovial and philanthropist who contributed immensely to the development of Warri Diocese. 

Sources told our correspondent that the late priest was one of the oldest fathers in Diocese.
