The Delta State Government has concluded plans to present Staff of Office to the Orusuen (King) of Okere-Urhobo Warri Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Emmanuel Okumagba, Okumagba ll, on Tuesday January 5th.
The event will hold at the Orusuen palace in Warri, the commercial nerve centre of Delta State.
NIGER DELTA TODAY Online gathered that the Deputy Governor of the state, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, will present the Staff of Office to the Urhobo monarch on behalf of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
The enthronement of Okumagba ll followed his selection by kingmakers and subsequent approval by the State Executive Council last month.
He succeeds a former professor at the Sociology Department of the Delta State University, Abraka, HRM Prof. Paul Oghenero Okumagba, Idama II, who joined his ancestors July 2019.
Okere-Urhobo Warri Kingdom is one of the two Urhobo Kingdoms in Warri.
The traditional ruler until his selection as monarch was a member of the Governor Okowa’s Delta Advisory and Peace Building Council.
Several sources within the palace confirmed the development to our correspondent on Saturday.
It was gathered several dignitaries including the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, will attend the ceremony.
