Released Katsina Schoolboys To Undergo Medical Checkup Says Gov Masari

Gov Aminu Masari

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari, says the released pupils of Government Science Secondary School in Ƙanƙara, would undergo medical examination before being released to their families.

Masari stated this while confirming the release of the over 300 schoolboys abducted last week Friday by suspected bandits.

He, however, said the state government would henceforth beef up security around schools in the state to prevent re-ocurrence of such incident in the state.

An elated Masari said, “We have protected and secured all our schools. We are going to increase the number of security operatives in our schools to make sure that we don’t experience what we have experienced in the past six days. We want to encourage communities around those schools to form another security unit around the schools.”

The governor said the security agencies did well in securing the areas the pupils were camped.

“The whole area was secured and cordoned by the security agencies to secure the children. We thank them for the bravery act,” he said.

According to him, the issue of security is a challenge to everyone, saying “we can overcome our insecurity challenges if we all cooperate, unite and provide critical information to the security agencies.”
