Warri Mob Apprehend Three Fleeing Suspected Armed Robbers, Set Them Ablaze

Three suspected armed robbers were on Tuesday morning reportedly set ablaze in Warri after they ran out of luck having dispossessed some residents of Okumagba Avenue in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State. 

It was gathered that two of the suspects were apprehended and set ablaze at Emebiren Junction, another fleeing gang member was roasted alive along the Avenue Road near Eburu Junction within the Okumagba area of the city. 

Multiple sources confirmed the incident to our correspondent, saying the deceased were members of armed robbery gang numbering eight which attacked residents of Emebiren and its adjoining streets on Tuesday. 

The suspects were said to have stormed the area in a vehicle and tricycle also known as Keke.

However, they ran out of luck when some of their victims raised alarm which attracted mob and some vigilante members who chased them until they were apprehended and thereafter set ablaze. 

Other gang members were escaped juggle justice of the angry residents.

A resident of Eburu simply identified as Osahon confirmed the incident, saying one of the suspects was burnt alive near Eburu Junction while fleeing for safety. 

Contacted, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, confirmed the incident but said only two hoodlums were set ablaze. 

Recall that there have rising cases of robbery in Warri and Effurun areas of the state following withdrawal of police as occasioned by the #EndSARS protests in the state.
