Umahi: Wike, Eight Other PDP Governors To Join APC Before 2023 – Gov Yahaya Bello

By Ovie Okpare

Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State on Thursday said Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike and others will leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bello, who however did not mentioned the names of the other PDP governors to dump their party for the APC, noted that Governor “Wike will be the last governor to join the APC.”

The Kogi governor had prior to the 2019 general elections hinted that ten governors of the PDP would join the APC.

He spoke on Thursday while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today on today’s defection of the governor of Ebonyi, Engr. David Umahi from the PDP to the APC.

Bello, while responding to questions from the anchor of the programme, said “other PDP governors are already knocking” to follow Umahi to the APC ahead of the 2023 general elections.

“Other governors are already knocking to join us from PDP. We are already completing the arrangement so that they can come in peace.

“Other governors are already knocking. They are on their way. We will be unveiling them one after the other. Wike might be the last to join the All Progressives Congress”, Bello revealed.

Commenting Umahi’s defection to the APC, the Kogi governor hailed his Ebonyi counterpart, describing his action as something he would never regret.

According to him, Umahi, even while in PDP, had always supported the policies and programmes of the APC of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, adding that “Mr. President has high regard for Umahi.”

He posited that he had always known that Umahi would join the APC because of his progressives’ ideas.

  1. It’s high time people know how to take the system away from those who feel the own it. How can wike leave pdp and join apc ? Then madness is at play within the political sphere of this nation. #TOTALBLACKMAILANDCONFUSION
