The Management of Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, has debunked social media reports that the school rector, Dr. Momodu Sanusi Jimah, is dead.
Social media was awash on Tuesday with reports that Jimah had passed on.
A statement signed by the Institution’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mustapha Oshiobuge, said the “Rector is alive.”
A copy of the statement sighted by NIGER DELTA TODAY (NDT) Online was contained in the school special bulletin titled, “The Rector of Auchi Poly Lives”.
The statement read, “It has come to the attention of the Management of the Auchi Polytechnic that rumours of the death of the Rector went viral on the social media.
“Management of the Polytechnic states categorically that the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. M. S. Jimah is alive.

“The public is advised to simply disregard the news. It is the Almighty God that gives life and by His grace, the Rector is alive.”
However, independent investigation by our correspondent revealed that the Rector who had been battling a stroke, had been discharged from hospital where he had been receiving treatment.
It was further gathered that the Auchi Poly Rector loss one of his in-laws during the week.
