Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the September 19 governorship election in Edo State, has reacted to the outcome of the election where Governor Godwin Obaseki was declared winner.
The APC candidate alleged he lost the election to the PDP because his supporters were prevented from voting during the exercise.
Ize-Iyamu stated this on Sunday night on his official Twitter handle.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Obaseki of the PDP re-elected in the Saturday’s poll after securing majority votes during the exercise adjudged to peace free and fair.
Obaseki polled a total of 307,955 votes to defeat his closest rival, Ize-Iyamu, who scored 223,619 votes.
While thanking his supporters, he noted that he was studying results before disclosing his next line of action.
The tweet read, “I thank and appreciate my supporters, who had to endure many evils including being prevented from voting, for their support and determination during the election.
“I assure you all that I am studying the results along with other party members and will announce my next move soon.”
