SHOCKING: Man Jilted By Girlfriend Commits Suicide In Delta

There was pandemonium on Sunday at Okuokoko in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State when the lifeless body of a young man was found in a two bedroom flat in what residents claimed was a suicide case.

It was gathered that the deceased said to be in his early 30s was found dead in his apartment after he was last seen over 24 hours entering his flat.

It was gathered that the deceased who hailed from Ughelli area of the state had attempted suicide over a month ago after his girlfriend reportedly jilted him.

The victim, simply identified as Efe, was said to have been revived in his first suicide attempt after consuming some dangerous substances in a bid to take his own life until friends reportedly caught him immediately drinking the unknown substances.

In the Sunday’s incident, residents were alleged to have discovered containers of unknown poisonous substances at the point his lifeless body was found.

It was further learnt that second suicide attempt was not unconnected with the issue he reportedly had with his supposed girlfriend.

The deceased’s neighbour stated, “This is something that has happened before. He was rushed to the hospital once, before it reoccurred. Right now, nobody knows what happened. He was just found dead in his house.

“That last month, the girlfriend said she didn’t want the relationship anymore and he drank something and passed out. But fortunately, he was rushed to the hospital and he survived it.

“Every finger is pointing at the girl that it was probably because of love and all that. He was living fine, he had a well paying job. This unfortunate occurrence, I don’t really understand,” the friend said.

However, efforts to speak with the spokesperson of the Delta State Police Command, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, on the incident proved abortive at the time of filing this report.
