Police Nab Three Suspected Kidnappers In Anambra

Three kidnap suspects have been arrested by arrested by operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) attached to the Anambra State Police Command.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the arrest of the suspects.

The suspects, Obasi Faith Ezinne (23yrs) from Mbaitolu Imo State, Ntomchukwu Anabaraonye (33yrs) from Okija and Abuchi Obinna (26yrs) from Ihiala.

The suspects allegedly abducted one Henry Okam, a 34-year-old man from Okija in Ihiala Local Government Area.

The police spokesman said the suspects reportedly killed the victim with a pomp action gun and subsequently buried him in a shallow grave.

“Meanwhile, the suspects who voluntarily confessed to the crime took operatives to a thick forest in Ihiala where the decomposing body of the victim was exhumed and deposited in the mortuary for autopsy after it was certified dead by a medical doctor

“Consequently, the pomp action used by the suspects in perpetrating the heinous crime including the victim’s phones were also recovered in their possession and registered as exhibits”, the police said.

According to the release, the case is under investigation after which the suspects and their accomplices would be charged to court.

The State Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang, according to the statement, reiterated that there is there is no hiding place for Criminals in Anambra, stressing that the command will continue to fish out and deal decisively with criminal elements in accordance with the law.
