NLC, ULC Resolve Crisis As Ajaero Emerges New Deputy President

The crisis rocking the apex workers’ union body in the country, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) with its break-way faction, United Labour Congress (ULC) has been resolved with the former ULC president, Joe Ajaero emerging NLC Deputy President.

Both end said they have decided to put to the crisis to enable Nigerian workers form a united labour movement devoid of rancors.

The then Ajaero-led ULC broke away during the delegates’ conference to elect new leadership of the NLC in December 2016.

 NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, disclosed this on Thursday after a joint session of a reconciliatory meeting in Abuja with both bodies.

He announced that at the end of the meeting Ajaero was appointed as Deputy President of the union.

Wabba said with the reconciliation, the leadership of the ULC has been re-integrated into the NLC.
