Mrs. Lucy Nwaezeneli Egware, mother of the Senior Special Assistant (Media) to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Mr Nelson Egware, is dead.
Mrs Egware passed on after a brief illness on Monday.
Born August 15th, 1940, the deceased worked in the State Local Government Service as a Ward Orderly until her retirement in 1995.
The retired civil servant died barely a month to her 80th birthday.
She was born into the Adinkwu family of Umugwo quarters, Onu-Aboh in Ndokwa East Local Government Area of the state.
Mrs Egware, who lived her early life in Jos before returning to Delta, survived with eight children including Mr Nelson Egware who has been media aide to Okowa since 2015.
Mr. Egware confirmed the passage of his mother to our reporter on Monday evening.
He described his late mum as loving and selfless woman who contributed immensely to the development of her immediate community.
He added that his 79-year-old mother would be greatly missed by her children, Egware family of Emevor in Isoko North LGA and the Adinkwu family of Ndokwa East LGA.
“All through her years in service, she took delivery of well over 3,000 children throughout her career.
“Upon retirement, she engaged in community services rendering health assistance to her immediate communities and beyond”, Okowa’s SSA added.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Council, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor has condoled with the family of Mr Nelson Egware over the death of his beloved mother.
In a condolence message to the Egware family, Egbabor described the deceased as a mother who lived a fulfilled and a worthy life.
“The death of Mrs Lucy Nwaezeneli Egware came as a shock and a great loss not only to her immediate family but to entire Emevor and Isoko North in general.
“The late Mrs Lucy Nwaezeneli Egware was an upright woman, God fearing and family pillar, who lived a fruitful life and impacted positively on the lives of her children and her community”, Isoko North Council boss added.
Egbabor, while praying for the soul of deceased, asked God to grant the family fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
