The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday confirmed that COVID-19 cases in the country have risen to 5162.
It said Cross River and Kogi States remained the only two states in the country yet to record any case of the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic since its outbreak in Nigeria.
NCDC stated this while revealing that 193 new cases of the virus were recorded in 14 states and the FCT Abuja on Thursday.
It added that 1180 patients have been discharged from isolation centres having tested negative to the disease.
According to the report, 167 patients have died as a result of the virus.
It said, “193 new cases of #COVID19; 58-Lagos, 46-Kano, 35-Jigawa, 12-Yobe, 9-FCT, 7-Ogun, 5-Plateau, 5-Gombe, 4-Imo, 3-Edo, 3-Kwara, 3-Borno, 1-Bauchi, 1-Nasarawa, 1-Ondo.
“5162 cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. Discharged: 1180. Deaths: 167.”
In a further report released on Friday, NCDC explained that a total of 31702 samples have so far been tested across the country with Lagos and Kano States being the states mostly hit by the pandemic in the country.
