Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Hit 2170 In Total, Kano Records 92 Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced the discovery of 238 new cases of the dreaded COVID-19 in the country.

It said Kano alone recorded 92 cases on Friday to toppled FCT Abuja to come second in the chart of the most infected states.

In a statement on its verified Twitter handle on Friday night, NCDC said the new cases were recorded in Kano, FCT, Lagos, Gombe, Delta , Bauchi, Edo and among others.

It also disclosed that the number of deaths have risen to 68 as against 58 recorded on Thursday.

According to it, “238 new cases of #COVID19; 92-Kano, 36-FCT, 30-Lagos, 16-Gombe, 10-Bauchi, 8-Delta, 6-Oyo, 5-Zamfara, 5-Sokoto, 4-Ondo, 4-Nasarawa, 3-Kwara, 3-Edo, 3-Ekiti, 3-Borno, 3-Yobe, 2-Adamawa, 1-Niger, 1-Imo, 1-Ebonyi, 1-Rivers and 1-Enugu.

“2170 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria Discharged: 351 Deaths: 68.”

The statement on its further disclosed that, “On the 1st of May 2020, 238 new confirmed cases and ten deaths were recorded in Nigeria

“No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours.

“Till date, 2170 cases have been confirmed, 351 cases have been discharged and 68 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 238 new cases are reported from twenty-two states.”
