EXCLUSIVE: Delta Discharges Two COVID-19 Patients

Two COVID-19 patients at the isolation centre at Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba, Delta State, will be discharged today (Tuesday) after testing negative for the second time to the virus.

NIGER DELTA TODAY Online exclusively learned that the patients will be released to their families before the end of Tuesday.

An official of the State Task Force on COVID-19 confirmed the recovery of the two cases to our correspondent on Tuesday.

The source told our correspondent that the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Ononye, will announce the discharge of the two patients.

Our source said, “There’s good news.
Two cases of COVID-19 are to be discharged in Delta today. They were treated at the FMC, Asaba.

“They have tested negative twice. Commissioner (for Health) will brief Deltans on the development later.”

Delta has recorded six confirmed cases of the pandemic with one death recorded while five are currently active.

Delta first recorded its first case of the virus on Tuesday April 7th, 2020.
