Kano State on Monday recorded 23 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic, bringing the state’s number of confirmed cases to 59.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this while announcing 38 new cases in seven states and the3 FCT, Abuja, late Monday evening.
With the new cases, Nigeria now has 665 confirmed cases, NCDC said in a tweet via its verified Twitter handle.
It also the first time since the outbreak of the disease in the country that Lagos is recording a case in a day.
While Kano had 23, Gombe recorded five, Kaduna scored three, Borno and Abia States had two each respectively and FCT, Sokoto and Ekiti States recorded one each respectively.
According to NCDC, “Thirty-eight new cases of #COVID19 have been reported; 23 in Kano, 5 in Gombe, 3 in Kaduna, 2 in Borno, 2 in Abia, 1 in FCT, 1 in Sokoto and1 in Ekiti.
“As at 11:10 pm 20th April there are 665 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 188. Deaths: 22.
