86 New Cases Of COVID-19 Recorded In Nigeria, Akwa Ibom Gets Three

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday says 86 new cases of the novel Coronavirus has been recorded in the country.

This brings to 627 the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria.


It also reported that four patients had been discharged after testing negative to the virus. It brings to 170 the number of discharged cases.


However, the number of deaths, also grew by two. The total death is now 21.

Of the 86 new cases, Lagos recorded 70, closely followed by FCT which had seven, with Katsina and Akwa Ibom States recording three each while Jigawa, Bauchi and Borno States recorded one each respectively.

“Eighty-six new cases of #COVID19 have been reported: 70 in Lagos, 7 in FCT, 3 in Katsina, 3 in Akwa Ibom, 1 in Jigawa, 1 in Bauchi and 1 in Borno.

“As at 11:50 pm 19th April there are 627 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Discharged: 170. Deaths: 21”, NCDC tweeted on Sunday.
