37-Year-Old Engineer, Omobayo, Sworn In As Edo Deputy Governor

Following the impeachment of Comrade Philip Shaibu, the Edo State Chief Judge, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, has sworn-in Omobayo Godwins as deputy governor.

 

Omobayo, 37, was inaugurated as Edo Deputy Governor, hours after Philip Shaibu was impeached by the State House of Assembly.

 

His confirmation followed his nomination by Governor Godwin Obaseki on Monday after the impeachment of Shaibu.

 

The 37-year-old engineer and graduate of the University of Benin was sworn in around 1:40 pm on Monday by Edo Chief Judge, Justice Okungbowa.

 

Omobayo’s inauguration held at the Edo State Government House in Benin City.
