…Says Omo-Agege, APC Have Done More For Udu People Than PDP

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Udu local government area of Delta State says the people of Udu will deliver all the candidates of the party beginning from Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Deputy President of the Senate in the forthcoming general elections in the council.
Udu APC described as shameful and insensitive for members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the council to celebrate abandon projects initiated by the successive PDP-led government in the council.
Addressing journalists on Sunday at Ekete Inland in Udu, Delta State, the chairman of APCCampaigns in Udu LGA, Hon. Mike Ibada, noted that the people of Udu will reject PDP and their candidates for its abysmal performance in the council in the last 24 years.
Ibada, flanked by the Delta APC spokesman, Mr. Valentine Onojeghuo; APC DTHA candidate for Udu Constituency, Mr. Ovie Collins Egbetamah, posited that APC through Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and other party chieftains have attracted more projects in Udu than the 24 years of PDP.
The Udu APC Campaign chairman, who was reacting to Olorogun Moses Odibo-led PDP Udu Campaign titled “Udu LGA and Harvest of PDP Projects”, challenged the ruling PDP to point to the projects the party had done in the council.
He said, “In normal climes, the PDP in Delta state particularly in Udu Local Government Area should be so ashamed to enter the streets to canvass for votes considering the failure, corruption and ineptitude, uncommon greed and barefaced evidence of non-performance that have characterized the activities of the party over the years.
“We are appalled to hear that the PDP still have the gut to visit our communities to campaign and ask for votes from Udu people after 24 years of non-performance and gross incompetence.
“The so-called Harvest of PDP projects presented by the PDP Campaign Committee in their press statement can be summed up below: Human capital programmes in the name of STEP/YAGEP, construction and renovation of some classrooms, about 3 roads in Udu in 24 years, 15 health Care Centres including the ones built under the military and even under Shagari administrations, a habour market that has been under construction since 2004 and school furniture that can hardly satisfy the needs of 4 schools out of over a hundred schools in Udu.
“One is at a loss why PDP chose to caption their failure as Harvest of Projects. This is a political party that has been in power under three successive administrations still talking of school furniture and 3 kilometers of roads as achievements, whereas, APC in just 8 years in Abuja and with the help and superlative performance of our most distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, can boast of a number of achievements that should make PDP run into hiding and forget the coming polls because of their insensitivity to the plight of the common man. Some of the achievements of the APC in the past few years include:
“Appointment of two Federal Commissioners from Udu LGA in the persons of Chief Richard Odibo and Hon Harvest Igben. This is what PDP could not do in 24 years for Udu people. Commissioning of the Ujevwu Railway station and commencement of railway services to Udu.
“Rehabilitation of Egini Main road by FERMA. On-going construction of Egini-Orhuwhorun Road and Egini-Ovworhokpokpor road by the APC-led Federal Government. Lighting up of almost all Udu Communities by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege through provision of Solar lighting systems.
The Federal Medical Centre, Ovwian, a milestone piece of legislature by Revd Francis Waive, a first term member of the House of Representatives, already passed. This is one huge project that will change the face of Udu as over 1000 persons would be employed and basic medical services provided for the needs of our people. For this alone, every true son of Ovwian and Udu should be grateful to APC and reject PDP totally for their many years of selfish and inept representation.
“Provision of transformers to several Udu Communities including Ovwian, Ujevwu, DSC Townships either by Revd Francis Waive or Senator Ovie Omo-Agege. Construction and equipping of ICT Centre at Ovwian Secondary School by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
“Construction and equipping of ICT Centre at Aladja Grammar School by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege. Provision of Blocks of Classrooms to Several Schools in Udu. Construction of Odjikpata road and other roads In Orhuwhorun by Mr S.K Panama, an APC chieftain and leader in Udu,
“Provision of blocks of Classrooms for Panama Primary School in Orhuwhorun, fully furnished and delivered as community support program by S.K Panama, leader of the APC in Udu. Let one PDP leader point of any similar projects in any Udu community. PDP leaders should learn to be civil by not talking of achievements when APC, in just 4 to 8 years have done what they could not do in 24 years.
“These and many more achievements are product of legislative interventions by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Rt Hon Revd Francis Waive who have not held executive positions in the state unlike the PDP which have been in power since 1999, whereas, they have nothing to show for Billions of naira that have accrued to the Local Government Council and over N4trillion that the Okowa administration has frittered away while our pensioners are languishing in pains and penury.
“However, one thing that cannot be taken from the PDP-led Delta State Government is that Okowa has assume notoriety as the Loan Master, having taken over N800 Billion naira loans with nothing on ground to show for it beside the huge monthly allocation, 13% derivation fund and Internally Generated Revenue.”
APC called on the people of Udu to reject all candidates of the PDP and vote en masse for the APC, saying with Senator Ovie Omo-Agege and Mr. Egbetamah as governor and house of assembly representing Udu, Udu Kingdom will witness rapid development.
“We want to use this medium to alert the Udu people to the shenanigans of the PDP in Udu and Delta State. These people have no good agenda for the masses. All they are after is how to grab power for selfish purposes. We cannot allow these gang of thieves and corrupt elements an inch close to our public till anymore.
“The now broke Atiku Abubakar is being funded by Governor Okowa despite the huge outstanding entitlements to our pensioners. These bunches of failures must be booted out of Delta state in the coming elections.
“We use this medium to appeal to all Udu sons and daughters to Vote Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President; Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for Governor; Chief Ede Dafinone for Senate; Revd Francis Waive for House of Representatives and Barr Collins Egbetamah for House of Assembly. These men have no match in the PDP circles.
“These are achievers in their own right, men of no means and people of quality. Those being paraded by the PDP are mostly touts and complete nuisance. Udu should reject them in its entirety. They are coming to loot and not to serve. How can a council Chairman be in office for two tenures with nothing to show for it other than lining his friends up for Chieftaincy titles, and he still have the guts to ask to be voted to the State House of Assembly?
“We have presented a cerebral lawyer for election to the House of Assembly. Let a lawyer go for us for the first time. Barr Collins Egbetamah will do Udu proud as a Lawmaker. Senator Ovie Omo-Agege will bring out the potentials of our youths and reinvent our common heritage for a better Delta State.
“If Omo-Agege could use his offices to bring so much to Delta state as a lawmaker, he will do us proud as governor. The reign of touts should be done with. Now is the time for delta state to take the right steps to make things right. PDP should be rejected by all and sundry.”
