Nigeria’s Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is currently meeting with governors elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the 2023 presidential election.
Osinbajo, who is being rumoured to be interested in the presidency seat, will use the meeting beg for the support of the governors for his presidential ambition ahead of next month’s Presidential primary.
The PUNCH reports that impeccable sources at the Presidential Villa revealed that the Vice-President is hosting the governors to the breaking of Ramadan fast (Iftar).
It was also gathered that the Vice President might declare his interest to run for the 2023 presidency after the meeting.
“The Iftar dinner being hosted by the VP is just commencing. APC governors, especially those from the North, are already gathered. The VP is now going to reveal his intention to run for President. He will then make it public to all Nigerians,” a source at the Villa said.
