2023: Okowa, Oborevwori, Delegates Arrive Asaba Stadium For Delta PDP Guber Primary

All is now set for the governorship primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party in Delta State as delegates of the party have started arriving Asaba Stadium, venue of the primary, for voting to commence.

NIGER DELTA TODAY can report that delegates already at the venue of the primary had been cleared by governorship election committee of the party.

Delegates and journalists had earlier converged at the Dome Event Centre, Asaba, where they are cleared and convened in buses to the venue.

At the time of filing this report some governorship aspirants including Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori; Senator James Manager, Olorogun Fred Majemite and Chief Abel Oghenevo Esievo are already seated waiting for primary to officially begin.

Our correspondent observed tight security outside and inside the stadium while non-delegates are prevented from gaining access to the venue of the primary.

A total of 859 delegates are expected to vote during the gubernatorial primary election to pick flagbearer of the PDP for next year governorship election in the state.

Some chieftains of the party including Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Senator Ighoyota Amori, Ned Nwoko, Olorogun Kingsley Esiso, Ndidi Elumelu and others have arrived the venue.
