2023 : Oborevwori Charges Clerics To Pray For Nigeria


The Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate and Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has called on men of God to pray for the Nation and the people, as the 2023 general elections approaches, saying that power belongs to God and not man.

At the 9th edition of the Eaglefest ’22, a prophetic annual convention of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Diocese of Oleh and held at the playground of the Anglican Grammar School, the Speaker said he was in the ceremony to tap from the abundant prayers, noting that the will of God must be done in the affairs of the nation.

According to him, God has uplifted the State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, a Knight of the Anglican Communion and himself as an elder in his church, imploring men of God not to relent in their prayers for leaders of the country.

“Our Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, a Knight of the Anglican Communion, has sent his greetings and that he is with you and this time around he needs prayers; that you should pray for him, our dear state and our country”, he said.

Appealing to men of God to pray for the nation and the people for His perfect will to be done in the affairs of the nation, the Delta State PDP Governorship Candidate, said he decided to close early from the Ward to Ward campaigns in order to meet up with the programme, “So as to tap from the blessings. I came in with leaders from Isoko Nation, Urhobo nation, Ijaw nation and people from Delta North are well represented. We need prayers that will guide us to victory”.

He said that; “I am an Elder in my Church and I have come for your blessings today. We need your prayers. Your prayers will help and will guide us. I came to meet with you in this Eaglefest for prayers. So my lord Bishop, pray for all of us. It is God that gives power, power belongs to God and not man”
