2023: Gbagi, Most Qualified To Succeed Governor Okowa – Delta Motorcycle Union

Commercial motorcycle riders in Delta State have endorsed a former Minister of State for Education and frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi for the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.

The Okada riders under the aegis of National Association of Okada Union also appealed to the ruling PDP to give the party’s ticket to the renowned business guru as its consensus flagbearer in the forthcoming election.

The union spoke on Monday when its members drawn from Ughelli south, Ughelli north, Udu and Burutu Local Government Areas of the state paid Olorogun Gbagi a solidarity visit at his Oginibo-country-home in Ughelli South.

The elated members of the union described the successful lawyer and criminologist as the most suitable and qualified person to succeed Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in 2023.

The union speaking through its leader, Mr. Lawrence Usemoney, specifically commended Gbagi for his continued support and charity to members of the group, saying that the union would support the governorship aspiration of the former minister.

Usemoney said, “All members of the association are in support of you as the next governor of our state.

“We equally call on our governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, that the grassroot is owned by Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi. They should give him the mandate to serve his people.”

Responding, Olorogun Gbagi thanked members of the union for the visit and charged them to vigorously mobilized its members and other Deltans of over 18 years for the forthcoming INEC continuous voter’s registration exercise across the state to enable exercise their electoral franchise in 2023.

The leading governorship aspirant also called on members of the union to support the policies of the Governor Okowa-led administration to enable him deliver on his electoral promises to the people of the state.

He said his administration would build on the achievements and the development map already set out by the Governor Okowa.

“I want to equally thank you that you have largely respected the governor of the state and let me tell you this, unless you work and pray for the governor, he can’t do much and if all we have is bad mouth, he will not do more. If you install a king, you worship him.

“If you all with one mind go and register because that will be done any moment from now. My appeal and request to you people today, is that everybody who is up to 18 years in your family that have not registered, en mass, go and register”, just as he charged them not to be afraid.

He reiterated that he is one among the three founding members of PDP, “When we founded the party, we didn’t found it for children who joined yesterday and those we gave Commissionership and work as Civil Servants to come and lead us. That was not how we planned it”, Gbagi disclosed.

Gbagi, promised them that he would continue to support them to ensure that they do their job with ease.

“If they talk of motorcycles I have released just this year alone, is more than a thousand. What I am mostly happy about is that Okada people in Delta State are largely peaceful.

The governorship hopeful, disclosed that he would industrialize the state in order to create job opportunities to the youths, assuring that they would be gainfully employed.

  1. I don’t know why some set of people could be so myopic in reasoning and be so blinded by the the “little peanuts” they get from political jobbers
    How could a group of people be clamouring for a man who doesn’t know or have value for human dignity to become the best governor of our dear State.
    He should first of all go and learn how to respect the human personality or personhood before talking of becoming the next governor.
