Ahead of the 2023 general elections, a member of the House of Representatives from Delta State, Rev Francis Ejiroghene Waive, has endorsed Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as the most qualified person to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Waive, who is the member representing Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency, called on Osinbajo, a professor of law, to contest the presidential election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmaker noted that the ruling APC will win the 2023 general election with ease if the party picks Osinbajo as its presidential candidate for the election.

Osinbajo’s endorsement was contained in a statement personally signed and issued by the federal lawmaker on Sunday.

Waive, is the only APC House of Representatives member from Delta State, stated that nobody from the opposition PDP can match the candidacy of Prof Osinbajo in the next general elections.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Power and Chairman, Nigeria Niger Parliamentary Friendship Group, appealed to APC leaders across the country to support Osinbajo’s candidacy.

According to the lawmaker, Vice President Osinbajo has displayed traits of a good leader and one that can be trusted with the nation’s number one political office.

He further praised Osinbajo for being a trustworthy and loyal deputy to President Buhari.

“Prof Osinbajo has proven capacity to turn the fortunes of this country around building on the foundation laid by the present administration”, Waive, a popular Christian cleric turned politician stressed.

Waive further added Nigeria needs a younger leader like Prof Osinbajo with vast contacts and respect for the multi ethnic and multi religious as its President.

“Prof Osinbajo’s intellectual depth, managerial abilities, patience and tolerance is what our country needs at this crucial time in our history”, he emphasised.

The lawmaker, however, enjoined Nigerians home and abroad to pray and work for the emergence of Prof Osinbajo as President of Nigeria in 2023.
