The Odio-Ologbo of Umeh Kingdom in Isoko South Local Government Area, HRM Ambrose Odiri, Owhe 1 says no vote from his kingdom will go to Senator James Manager, who is contesting for the fifth-time to return to the Senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections.
The monarch, however, assured that his subjects would massive cast their votes for the Delta South senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress and immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan in the February 16th elections
Speaking at his palace in Umeh when Uduaghan and his campaign entourage visited him, the Isoko monarch said the people of the area will vote for the form governor to thank him for constructing a historical 7.5km road to the riverside community.
Uduaghan as a governor had constructed 7.5 km road to the agrarian community through a Facebook campaign, Umeh Need Road.
Umeh is a community known for fish and plantain farming in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State.
The APC senatorial candidate drove through the road amid accolades from the people of Umeh particularly market women whom now have access road to transport their goods to neighbouring city markets.
In his remark, the Umeh traditional ruler told Uduaghan that, “You are like a king in Umeh. We call you the Elo (light) of Umeh community. You gave us road that brought along other development. Your relationship with our community is why I am respected among other traditional rulers.
“No single Umeh son or daughter will vote for the other candidate. All our votes are for you. Today I will upgrade you to the “Ovie Elo” of Umeh (king of light). You’re already in the senate.”
A photograph connoting love and unity was presented to him as well as all kinds of farm produce in commemoration of his visit.
