20-Year-Old FUPRE Undergraduate Floats Social Media App, Plutoid

An undergraduate at the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun (FUPRE), Delta State, Master Akporhiegbe OgheneRukevwe King, has launched Plutoid, a photo-based social media platform, he boasts, “would change the game by removing follower counts and focusing on real engagements where views and likes matter, not clout”

A 400-level student of Physics, 20-year-old Master Akporhiegbe said he embraced software management through self-motivated online grooming as he now builds and manages apps and websites across various human activities and business chains.

On why social media users should check out his Plutoid app, free on Google playstore, he said, “Unlike Facebook, X, or Instagram, Plutoid gives everyone a fair chance to shine based on the quality of their content, not their popularity.

“Plutoid stands out from platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and others by focusing on engagement metrics like views and likes rather than follower counts. Unlike traditional platforms that prioritize popularity and clout, Plutoid values authenticity and highlights the quality of interactions.

“Users can see total view counts on posts, giving them deeper insights into their content’s reach and performance. It’s a space where creators of all sizes can shine based on the resonance of their content, not just their follower base.

“Users find how this platform redefines relevance by prioritizing impactful engagement over vanity metrics. Plus, we’re introducing a powerful monetization feature, allowing creators to earn directly from their posts.”

He added that “Plutoid also prioritizes privacy, with chat screenshot and screen-sharing restrictions, making conversations more secure. If you want a platform where content truly matters, creators are valued, and engagement is real, Plutoid is where you belong. And the best part, this is just the beginning”
